This goes out to the swipeers
For quite a while now, we've been working on a new way to discover and connect with others on the platform. Kristoffer* has poured lots of love into developing this feature, and today we're excited to introduce Swipe.
*Kristoffer is one of the co-founders and the mastermind behind this feature.
It's simple. It's fun. And it's a much more pleasant way to explore professional profiles and find new connections than the conventional approach of scrolling through network requests on LinkedIn.
Why swipe?
Good question. We've been thinking about this alot. Our thesis is that we can take what is, and make it more fun, engaging, and private.
On LinkedIn, you're limited in the information presented to you when someone sends you a connection request. This is by design. Trust us, we analyzed this to the core.
LinkedIn is designed to present you with only as much information as you need to provoke curiosity to the point of wanting to go to their profile to learn more. And we all know how that goes. LinkedIn rats you out immediately to that person. No privacy.
With Swipe, you're presented with a lot more information about the person. Still at a glance, but with the opportunity to dig deeper. When you swipe right, we won't tell on you. A connection is only established when both parties swipe right. Like mutual consenting.
You can try it in the latest version of the app. Today.
